When we got an email at 1pm in the middle of last week for someone who was too ill to leave the house – we jumped at the opportunity to salvage their special day. The diner had liked our Feliz Cumpleanos Penelope menu and we were able to personalize it so that it could be created for her that night. We hit our favorite market – San Antoni – and Birthday Dinner Emergency was en route to becoming a success. A starter of miso eggplant and Galician cockle dashi with ginger oil to begin the meal. The main course would be our signature pan roasted Okelan ribeye with Galician cockle relish, roasted potatoes and the most beautiful baby onions. For desert, our chef would prepare mocha pot au creme. As our chef hit the kitchen, it was looking like this client’s birthday dinner emergency was on it’s way to being solved. Armed with the massive steak and all of the other miso en place, chef made his way to the cozy apartment in Poblenou and started unloading the preparations for birthday dinner delivery. More happy guests! Thats what we do it for.
